Overview

NST-1024 (also known as SEFA-1024) is an orally administered, gut-restricted, structurally engineered fatty acid (SEFA) being developed by NorthSea Therapeutics for the treatment of dyslipidemia, specifically hypertriglyceridemia. As a member of the SEFA class, the molecule is chemically modified to enhance metabolic stability and target specific lipid-regulating pathways while remaining largely confined to the gastrointestinal tract to minimize systemic exposure and potential side effects. NST-1024 has been evaluated in Phase 1 safety and pharmacokinetic studies and has progressed to Phase 2a proof-of-concept clinical trials in subjects with elevated triglyceride levels (≥500 mg/dL and ≤2000 mg/dL). It represents a distinct program from NorthSea's lead candidate, icosabutate, which is primarily focused on metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH).
