Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NT-VRL is a proprietary terpene-based botanical formulation developed by Eybna for anti-inflammatory and antiviral applications. It is described as a patented, data-driven blend of approximately 30 natural terpenes found in cannabis and other plants, with major constituents including beta caryophyllene, eucalyptol, and citral. In vitro, the formulation showed dose-dependent inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokine secretion without compromising cell viability, and demonstrated antiviral activity against human coronavirus 229E in human lung fibroblasts. The reported antiviral mechanism is prevention of viral attachment and or entry, and activity was reported to be enhanced when NT-VRL was combined with cannabidiol. The program appears to be in preclinical development for inflammation including cytokine storm and for viral respiratory infections.
