NT2 is a discovery-stage small peptide developed by Neurotez for the treatment and prevention of early-onset familial Alzheimer's disease (FAD). The drug candidate is designed to block the protein-protein interaction between presenilin 1 (PS1) and cytoplasmic linker protein 170 (CLIP-170). These proteins play critical roles in microtubular interactions and vesicle trafficking within neurons, processes that are often disrupted in Alzheimer's pathology. By modulating this specific interaction, NT2 aims to restore normal neuronal function and prevent disease progression. It is being developed alongside NT1, a related peptide with a similar mechanism of action.
