Overview

NTB-3119M is a novel granule formulation of rifapentine, a long-acting rifamycin derivative, developed by Qingdao Baiyang Pharmaceutical for the treatment and prevention of tuberculosis. As a rifamycin, it functions by inhibiting the beta subunit of DNA-dependent RNA polymerase in *Mycobacterium tuberculosis*, thereby preventing RNA synthesis and subsequent protein production. This granule formulation is specifically designed to enhance patient adherence and provide a more flexible dosing option, particularly for pediatric patients or those with difficulty swallowing tablets. NTB-3119M is currently in Phase 3 clinical development for the treatment of latent tuberculosis infection.
