Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NTP0127B is a natural plant extract derived from Irish bogland species, developed as part of the "Unlocking Nature’s Pharmacy from Bogland Species" project at Trinity College Dublin's NatPro Centre. It is being investigated for its immunomodulatory potential in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), specifically ulcerative colitis, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). In ex vivo colonic tissue explant models, NTP0127B has demonstrated the ability to modulate immune-metabolic profiles, specifically reducing the secretion of the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10 in tissues from IBS patients.
