Overview

NTP0206EA is a novel plant extract derived from Irish bogland species, identified through the "Unlocking Nature’s Pharmacy from Bogland Species" project. Developed by researchers at Trinity College Dublin and St. James's Hospital, the extract was selected for its immunomodulatory potential based on traditional medicine and in vitro screening. In ex vivo colonic tissue explant models, NTP0206EA has been shown to significantly reduce the secretion of Interleukin-10 (IL-10) in patients with ulcerative colitis. It is currently being explored as a potential therapeutic candidate for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
