Overview

NTR-441 is an engineered analogue of the natural enzyme DNASE1L3, designed as a first-in-class inhibitor of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs). Its primary mechanism is the systemic clearance of NETs from the vasculature and end organs, such as the lungs. NETs are implicated in multisystem complications and microthrombosis in diseases like severe COVID-19. By degrading these extracellular DNA structures, NTR-441 aims to reduce inflammation and organ damage associated with excessive NET formation. The drug was initially developed by Neutrolis Therapeutics for indications including COVID-19 and other inflammatory or autoimmune disorders[2][3][5]. It is classified among anti-inflammatories, antirheumatics, and skin disorder therapies[2].
