Overview

NTRA-9620 is an oral insulin formulation developed for gastrointestinal rehabilitation and post-resection bowel adaptation. It is specifically designed to enhance intestinal adaptation in infants with Short Bowel Syndrome (SBS) following surgical resection. The drug acts locally in the gut without systemic exposure, stimulating intestinal growth, cell maturation, and enzyme expression. This mechanism aims to improve nutrient absorption, reduce reliance on parenteral nutrition support, and increase enteral nutrition intake in patients with SBS.
