Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NTT-003 is a preclinical-stage drug candidate being developed by NTT Biopharma for the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration (wet-AMD). The formulation consists of the small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor axitinib encapsulated within mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSN). This nanotechnology-based delivery system is designed for topical administration as an eyedrop, aiming to provide a non-invasive alternative to the standard-of-care intravitreal injections. By inhibiting vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR-1, VEGFR-2, and VEGFR-3), NTT-003 suppresses the pathological angiogenesis and vascular leakage that characterize wet-AMD.
