Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NTX-001, developed by Neuraptive Therapeutics Inc., is an investigational nerve fusion system designed for the repair of peripheral nerve injuries. It is a kit that combines nerve fusion technology with a specialized device for use during surgical procedures. The core mechanism involves PEG-fusion, where polyethylene glycol (PEG) and sequenced reagents are applied to a freshly coapted nerve to facilitate the fusion of axonal membranes. This process aims to restore electrical signaling across severed peripheral nerves intra-operatively and prevent Wallerian degeneration, thereby accelerating functional recovery. The product has received FDA Fast Track Designation and Orphan Drug Designation for its fusogen.
