Overview

**NTx-265** is an investigational sequential neuroregenerative combination developed by Stem Cell Therapeutics for acute central nervous system injury. It administers human chorionic gonadotropin first, followed by epoetin alfa over a 9-day course. The intended rationale is to stimulate endogenous neural stem-cell proliferation with human chorionic gonadotropin and then promote neural-cell differentiation and repair with epoetin alfa. The program entered Phase II development in acute ischemic stroke and traumatic brain injury; the registered Phase IIb acute ischemic stroke studies were terminated or withdrawn, and NTx-265 has not been approved.
