NTZ-1006 is a highly potent and selective reversible monoamine oxidase B (MAO-B) inhibitor being developed by NTZ Lab for the treatment of central nervous system disorders, including Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and depression. As an N-unsubstituted indazole-5-carboxamide small molecule with a 3,4-dichlorophenyl substituent, it demonstrates subnanomolar potency (IC50 of 0.56 nM) and exceptional selectivity (>16,000-fold) over MAO-A. The drug's mechanism involves the reversible inhibition of MAO-B, which helps maintain dopamine levels and mitigate oxidative stress in the brain. NTZ-1006 is currently in preclinical development.
