Nu-11

Nu-11 is a novel antimicrobial agent belonging to the Bisphosphocin class, currently in preclinical development by Lakewood-Amedex Biotherapeutics. It is designed as a topical treatment for ear infections, specifically targeting otitis externa (swimmer's ear) and otitis media. Bisphosphocins are synthetic, small-molecule compounds that exert rapid bactericidal effects by disrupting bacterial cell membranes. This mechanism of action is effective against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including antibiotic-resistant strains, while maintaining a low potential for the development of resistance. Nu-11 is part of a broader platform of Bisphosphocin-class antimicrobials being explored for various localized and systemic infections.
