NU201 is a copper-based radiopharmaceutical developed by Nuclidium, designed to target the somatostatin receptor subtype-2 (SSTR2). It utilizes a theranostic approach, employing Copper-61 (61Cu) for diagnostic imaging and Copper-67 (67Cu) for targeted radionuclide therapy. As an SSTR2 antagonist, NU201 is designed to provide superior binding and tumor retention compared to traditional agonist-based radiopharmaceuticals. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for SSTR2-positive tumors, including metastatic breast cancer (mBC) and gastroenteropancreatic and bronchopulmonary neuroendocrine tumors (GEP & BP-NETs). The drug is part of Nuclidium's CuTrace™ platform, which focuses on the matched pair of copper isotopes for precision oncology.
