Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NuBone is a natural bovine-derived bone graft material (xenograft) used as a bone void filler and scaffold for bone regeneration in dental and orthopedic surgery. It is composed of deproteinized bovine bone mineral (DBBM) that has been processed to remove all organic components while preserving the natural porous architecture and crystalline structure of bovine bone. This porous matrix facilitates osteoconduction by providing a physical scaffold that supports the attachment and proliferation of osteoblasts and the infiltration of new blood vessels. NuBone is primarily indicated for procedures such as ridge augmentation, sinus lifts, filling of periodontal defects, and extraction socket preservation. It is often compared to other bovine bone minerals like Bio-Oss due to its similar physical properties and clinical applications.
