Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nuclear paraspeckle assembly transcript 1 small interfering RNA (NEAT1 siRNA) is a double-stranded RNA molecule designed to target and silence the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) nuclear paraspeckle assembly transcript 1 (NEAT1). NEAT1 is a critical structural component of paraspeckles, which are subnuclear bodies involved in transcriptional regulation, mRNA retention, and cellular stress responses. In preclinical research, NEAT1 siRNA is utilized to investigate the role of NEAT1 in various pathological conditions, including neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), as well as various cancers. Knockdown of NEAT1 using siRNA has been shown to reduce astrocyte reactivity, rescue memory deficits, and mitigate pathological protein aggregation in animal and cellular models.
