Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This investigational combination therapy consists of the pyrimidine nucleotides uridine triphosphate (UTP) and cytidine monophosphate (CMP) in conjunction with vitamin B12 (hydroxocobalamin). Developed and evaluated by the Fundação Educacional Serra dos Órgãos (UNIFESO) in Brazil, specifically within the NUBES Study, the treatment is designed for patients with acute low back pain of traumato-compressive etiology. The mechanism of action involves the stimulation of nerve fiber regeneration and the synthesis of myelin sheath phospholipids, which are critical for repairing damaged peripheral nerves. Clinical trial results indicated that this combination provides superior pain reduction and a more favorable safety profile compared to standard B-complex vitamin formulations (B1, B6, and B12).
