Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NuCoVac-11 is an 11-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide conjugate vaccine (PCV) developed by Panacea Biotec for the prevention of pneumonia and invasive pneumococcal diseases. The vaccine is designed to provide broad protection by targeting 11 specific serotypes of *Streptococcus pneumoniae*: 1, 5, 6A, 6B, 7F, 9V, 14, 18C, 19A, 19F, and 23F. By conjugating these polysaccharides to a carrier protein, the vaccine stimulates a T-cell dependent immune response, which is particularly effective in infants and young children. NuCoVac-11 represents an expansion of Panacea Biotec's earlier 10-valent vaccine and is currently in Phase 3 clinical trials, where its safety and immunogenicity are being compared to Pfizer's Prevenar 13.
