Overview

Numeta is a ready-to-use, triple-chamber bag system for parenteral nutrition (PN) specifically designed to meet the nutritional requirements of pediatric patients, ranging from preterm infants to children up to 18 years of age. Developed and manufactured by Baxter, the product contains a sterile combination of amino acids (specifically Primene), glucose, and a lipid emulsion (specifically ClinOleic), along with electrolytes, stored in separate compartments to be mixed immediately before intravenous administration. Numeta is engineered to provide standardized, age-appropriate nutrition while minimizing the risks of contamination and medication errors associated with manual compounding of PN solutions in neonatal and pediatric intensive care units.
