Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Numeta G16%E is a standardized, triple-chamber parenteral nutrition (PN) solution developed by Baxter, specifically designed for the nutritional support of preterm infants. The product contains a balanced mixture of amino acids, glucose, and electrolytes (including sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, and phosphate) in separate compartments that are mixed just prior to administration. This formulation is intended to meet the high metabolic and growth demands of premature neonates while reducing the risks associated with manual compounding, such as contamination and dosing errors. It is administered via intravenous infusion when enteral nutrition is impossible, insufficient, or contraindicated.
