Overview

NUP205 siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the expression of the NUP205 gene, which encodes a 205 kDa component of the nuclear pore complex (NPC). In the context of liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), NUP205 is frequently overexpressed and is associated with advanced clinicopathological features, poor prognosis, and resistance to chemotherapeutic agents like doxorubicin. By utilizing the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, this siRNA targets NUP205 mRNA for degradation, leading to a significant reduction in NUP205 protein levels. Experimental studies have shown that NUP205 knockdown inhibits tumor cell proliferation and migration, and restores sensitivity to chemotherapy. It is currently utilized as a research tool to validate NUP205 as a potential therapeutic target and prognostic biomarker in oncology.
