Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NUPR1-shRNA lentiviral vector is a research-use-only gene silencing tool designed to knock down the expression of nuclear protein 1 (NUPR1), also known as p8 or candidate of metastasis 1. NUPR1 is a stress-inducible transcriptional cofactor that is overexpressed in various malignancies, including multiple myeloma, gastric cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and non-small cell lung cancer, where it promotes cell survival, proliferation, metastasis, and chemoresistance. The lentiviral vector delivers short hairpin RNA (shRNA) targeting NUPR1 mRNA, triggering RNA interference (RNAi) to degrade the transcript and downregulate NUPR1 protein levels. In preclinical studies, knockdown of NUPR1 using this vector has been shown to inhibit cell proliferation, induce G0/G1 cell cycle arrest, and promote apoptosis by downregulating Bcl-2 and PCNA, upregulating PTEN, and activating caspases.
