Overview

NuriPep 1653 is an experimental **antimicrobial peptide** biologic composed of 22 amino acids with the sequence VRGLAPKKSLWPFGGPFKSPFN. It was identified by computational mining from the P54 nutrient reservoir protein of *Pisum sativum* and reported as a non-modified peptide with rapid bactericidal activity against multidrug-resistant and pan-drug resistant *Acinetobacter baumannii*. Preclinical work indicates membrane-active antibacterial effects, low observed propensity to induce resistance, lack of cytotoxicity in tested human cell lines, and in vitro synergy with colistin. Based on the provided evidence, it appears to be a research-stage anti-infective peptide described in the academic literature rather than a clinically advanced or commercially identified development asset.
