Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NuThrax is an investigational vaccine designed for the prevention of anthrax disease caused by *Bacillus anthracis*. It is a next-generation anthrax vaccine candidate combining BioThrax (Anthrax Vaccine Adsorbed, AVA) with the immunostimulatory oligodeoxynucleotide adjuvant CPG 7909, a Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) agonist. The intent is to provide faster onset of protective immunity and require fewer doses than existing vaccines. NuThrax is being studied as an anthrax vaccine for use in the event of exposure and as a component of medical countermeasure stockpiles.
