Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NuTRIflex Lipid peri is a specialized three-chamber bag system for peripheral parenteral nutrition (PN), developed and manufactured by B. Braun. It provides a balanced combination of amino acids, glucose, electrolytes, and a lipid emulsion composed of a 50:50 ratio of medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) and long-chain triglycerides (LCT). The product is specifically formulated with a lower osmolarity (approximately 840-950 mOsm/l) to allow for safe administration through peripheral veins, which is suitable for patients requiring short-to-medium term nutritional support when central venous access is not indicated or available. It is used to prevent or treat malnutrition in patients who cannot meet their nutritional requirements through oral or enteral routes, such as those recovering from major surgery or suffering from gastrointestinal disorders.
