Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nutriflex Omega special + Oxepa is a combination nutritional therapy regimen designed for critically ill, mechanically ventilated patients who require both enteral and parenteral support. Nutriflex Omega special is a three-chamber bag parenteral nutrition emulsion developed by B. Braun Medical, containing a balanced mixture of amino acids, glucose, and lipids enriched with omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA from fish oil), medium-chain triglycerides (MCT), and long-chain triglycerides (LCT). Oxepa is a specialized enteral nutrition formula developed by Abbott Nutrition, also enriched with omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, antioxidants, and borage oil (providing gamma-linolenic acid). This combination approach is intended to provide comprehensive metabolic support and immunomodulation, specifically targeting the inflammatory response in intensive care patients to improve clinical outcomes.
