Nuviju

Nuviju is an injectable lipolytic agent developed by Medytox for the aesthetic reduction of localized fat, initially approved in South Korea for moderate to severe submental fat. It is the first marketed fat-dissolving injection to use cholic acid as its active ingredient rather than deoxycholic acid, leveraging the endogenous bile acid’s surfactant properties to induce adipocyte membrane disruption and fat cell destruction while aiming to reduce pain, swelling, and other adverse reactions associated with traditional deoxycholic acid products by optimizing pH and formulation. Developed as Medytox’s chemical drug project MT921, Nuviju is positioned as a next-generation lipolysis injection intended to expand the company’s aesthetic injectable portfolio alongside its botulinum toxin and dermal filler franchises.
