Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NV-1065 is a preclinical-stage, non-steroidal, small molecule inhibitor of 5α-reductase (5-AR) developed by Re:You for the treatment of hair loss (androgenetic alopecia). Discovered using an artificial intelligence-enabled drug discovery platform, NV-1065 is designed to reduce dihydrotestosterone (DHT) levels in the hair follicle environment to prevent follicle miniaturization without the systemic endocrine side effects associated with traditional steroidal 5-AR inhibitors like finasteride and dutasteride. In preclinical studies, NV-1065 demonstrated 5-AR inhibitory potency comparable to dutasteride and successfully rescued testosterone-induced growth inhibition in human hair follicle organoids without showing detectable androgenic activity.
