Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NV-273 is an investigational small molecule discovered using an artificial intelligence-guided drug discovery platform by RE:YOU. It is designed to target the surrounding hair follicle environment to promote hair growth and rejuvenation. Mechanistically, NV-273 acts as an inhibitor of prolyl hydroxylase domain protein 2 (PHD2), which stabilizes hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α). This stabilization activates downstream hypoxia-responsive regenerative pathways, leading to increased production of vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) and lactate. These effects enhance nutrient delivery, blood vessel formation, and energy metabolism in dermal papilla cells (DPCs) and keratinocytes. NV-273 is formulated as part of the NOVOGRO complex (alongside NV-623 and NV-624) in the RE:YOU Dual Path Hair Revival Serum, which is being evaluated in clinical trials for female hair thinning and androgenetic alopecia.
