Overview

**NV-VPAC1** is a proprietary small molecule peptide analog that selectively targets the **vasoactive intestinal peptide receptor 1 (VPAC1)**, a G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) overexpressed up to 1000-fold on the surface of various cancer cells including prostate, breast, bladder, colon, endometrial, lung, brain, cervical, and others, while minimally expressed on benign tissues. Developed from technology originated at **Thomas Jefferson University** and advanced by **NuView Life Sciences**, it enables **theranostic applications**: in vitro liquid biopsy diagnostics via fluorophore labeling for optical imaging of cancer cells in urine or biofluids (e.g., 85% sensitivity, 75% specificity in prostate cancer validation), and in vivo PET/CT imaging or targeted therapy when conjugated to radionuclides like **Copper-64 (Cu-64)** for diagnostics or **Copper-67 (Cu-67)** for therapy, offering high tumor uptake, low background, and minimal urinary excretion for precise tumor detection and metastasis imaging.[1][3][5][6][10]
