Overview

NV-VPAC1 Cu-67 is a targeted radiotherapeutic agent developed by NuView Life Sciences as part of its theranostic platform. It consists of a small molecule peptide construct designed to target the vasoactive intestinal peptide receptor type 1 (VPAC1), a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that is highly overexpressed on the surface of various malignant cells, including those in prostate, breast, lung, bladder, and colon cancers. The construct is labeled with the beta-emitting radioisotope Copper-67 (Cu-67), which delivers localized, cytotoxic radiation directly to tumor cells while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue. This therapeutic approach is intended to be used in a theranostic pair with Copper-64 (Cu-64) PET imaging to identify and treat VPAC1-expressing malignancies.
