Overview

NvA-011 is a recombinant human type VII pro-collagen protein therapy designed for topical application. It is being developed by Nova Anchora as a corrective protein therapy for dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (DEB), the most severe form of this rare genetic skin disorder. The drug aims to restore the function of type VII collagen, which is deficient in people with DEB, thereby addressing the underlying cause of the disease. The technology was originally developed at Stanford University and licensed to Nova Anchora. As of 2025, NvA-011 remains in preclinical development and has received orphan drug designation from the US FDA[2][3][5].
