NVG-2089 is a novel, recombinant human immunoglobulin G1 Fc (IgG1-Fc) fusion protein developed as a non-immunosuppressive immunomodulator. It is designed to precisely target type II Fc receptors (specifically Fc gamma receptor IIB), upregulating their expression and triggering endogenous regulatory mechanisms that reduce autoimmune dysregulation. This results in the expansion of regulatory T cells and downregulation of inflammatory pathways. The drug aims to replicate the anti-inflammatory effects of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) at significantly lower doses, offering potential advantages such as reduced infusion times and improved consistency over plasma-derived IVIg. NVG-2089 has demonstrated powerful anti-inflammatory effects in preclinical models characterized by activated B cells, T cells, and myeloid immune cells. It is being developed for chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), inflammatory myopathies, bullous pemphigoid, and other severe dermatologic autoimmune diseases[1][2][3][4][5].
