Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NVK016 is a ready-to-use intravenous (IV) formulation of **fosaprepitant** (150 mg) being developed by **Nevakar Inc.** as a reformulated alternative to the reference listed drug **EMEND** (fosaprepitant dimeglumine) for Injection. Fosaprepitant is a prodrug of **aprepitant**—a selective, high-affinity antagonist of human substance P/neurokinin-1 (NK1) receptors—and is rapidly converted to aprepitant in vivo following IV administration. As an NK1 receptor antagonist, NVK016 is indicated for the prevention of **chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV)**. The 'ready-to-use' formulation distinguishes NVK016 from the reference product, which requires reconstitution from powder form prior to administration. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to demonstrate bioequivalence to EMEND.
