Overview

NVK029 is an investigational, topical ophthalmic eye-drop therapy being developed by Vyluma (a subsidiary of Nevakar) for the treatment of presbyopia, aiming to provide a pharmacologic alternative to reading glasses and other conventional interventions.[5][11] It is described as a repurposed formulation of an undisclosed small-molecule active ingredient, reformulated specifically for ocular use to improve near visual acuity under mesopic conditions, with or without distance correction, in presbyopic patients.[5][11] A phase II dose-confirmation study is planned to evaluate its effect on mesopic near visual acuity, and detailed target, receptor pharmacology, and molecular mechanism of action have not yet been publicly disclosed.[5]
