Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**NVP024** is a preclinical sangamide class cyclophilin inhibitor developed orally by NeuroVive Pharmaceutical (now Abliva) for the treatment of **hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)**. It demonstrated powerful anticancer effects through in vitro and in vivo proof-of-concept data presented in February 2017, showing efficacy in HCC models via inhibition of cyclophilin, a target implicated in cancer cell growth. The program is in lead identification with ongoing preclinical development focused on model compound evaluation, representing a second-generation compound up to 100 times more active than first-generation analogs in HCC cell line growth inhibition.
