NVQ501 is a multispecific fusion antibody being developed by Neuvasq Biotechnologies for the treatment of retinal vascular diseases, including diabetic macular edema (DME) and wet age-related macular degeneration (wAMD). The therapeutic is a dual-action biologic designed to restore the blood-retina barrier while neutralizing vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). It functions by activating the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway through the targeting of co-receptors Gpr124 and Lrp6. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that NVQ501 can activate β-catenin signaling in human retinal endothelial cells and effectively inhibit the induction of PLVAP, a major mediator of retinal vascular damage and permeability. As of mid-2026, the program is in preclinical development, advancing through CMC and IND-enabling studies.
