Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**NVX-CoV2373** is Novavax's prototype recombinant protein nanoparticle COVID-19 vaccine, commercialized as **Nuvaxovid** and **Covovax**. It contains purified, full-length, prefusion-stabilized recombinant SARS-CoV-2 spike protein assembled into nanoparticles and co-formulated with the saponin-based Matrix-M adjuvant. Intramuscular administration presents spike antigen to the immune system and induces neutralizing anti-spike antibodies and cellular immune responses intended to prevent COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2. The original prototype vaccine was based on the ancestral SARS-CoV-2 spike sequence and has been developed, manufactured, and commercialized through Novavax and regional partners including Serum Institute of India, Takeda, and SK bioscience.
