NWRD08 is a DNA plasmid-based therapeutic vaccine designed to target human papillomavirus (HPV) types 16 and 18. It is being developed as an immunostimulant for the treatment of cervical high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL), particularly in patients who are HPV-16 and/or HPV-18 positive. The vaccine works by stimulating the immune system to recognize and attack cells expressing HPV antigens, aiming to clear precancerous lesions associated with persistent HPV infection. NWRD08 is administered via electroporation, which enhances cellular uptake of the DNA vaccine. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials, with its development led by Newish Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., and Newish Biotechnology (Wuxi) Co., Ltd.[1][2][4][5]
