Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NX002 is a peptide therapeutic derived from the gastric growth factor AMP-18, being developed by NephRx as a mucosal growth and repair agent for conditions such as oral mucositis and other inflammatory or ulcerative diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Preclinical studies indicate that NX002 stimulates epithelial cell proliferation and migration, enhances mucosal wound healing, and strengthens epithelial barrier function by increasing junctional protein accumulation, thereby reducing ulceration and accelerating recovery after cytotoxic injury from chemotherapy or radiation. The agent is positioned as a first-in-class, locally acting gastric growth factor–based peptide for supportive care in oncology and potentially for inflammatory bowel diseases including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.[1][3][4][7][9]
