Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NX904 is a novel idronoxil-conjugated benzopyran small molecule developed by Noxopharm Limited as part of its oncology pipeline. It is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of various brain cancers, including glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) and both low-grade and high-grade gliomas. The compound is designed to target and inhibit key hallmarks of cancer progression, specifically cell proliferation and tissue invasion. Preclinical data presented at the SNO 2025 meeting demonstrated that NX904 significantly reduces the growth of patient-derived brain tumour explant organoids (GBOs) and induces high levels of cell death (over 60%). NX904 is part of a series of compounds (including NX786) derived from the idronoxil scaffold, aimed at improving therapeutic outcomes in aggressive and heterogeneous brain tumours.
