Overview

NXC680 is a small molecule autotaxin (ATX) inhibitor being developed by NEXTGEN Bioscience for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Autotaxin is a secreted enzyme responsible for the production of lysophosphatidic acid (LPA), a bioactive lipid that promotes fibroblast activation, proliferation, and migration, which are key drivers of tissue fibrosis. By inhibiting ATX, NXC680 reduces LPA levels, thereby potentially slowing or halting the progression of fibrotic lung disease. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical development.
