Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NXC828 is a small molecule therapeutic candidate being developed by NEXTGEN Bioscience for the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration (wet-AMD). It functions by targeting the Hypoxia-Inducible Factor 1-alpha (HIF-1α) and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) pathways. Through the inhibition of HIF-1α and modulation of VEGF, NXC828 is designed to exert anti-angiogenic effects, addressing the underlying pathology of abnormal vessel growth and leakage in the retina. The program is currently in the preclinical phase of development.
