Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NXP004 is a novel, proprietary cocrystal formulation of the PARP inhibitor olaparib, developed by Nuformix. By utilizing cocrystal technology, NXP004 is designed to enhance the dissolution and bioavailability of olaparib compared to the currently marketed formulation (Lynparza). The drug targets poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) enzymes, which are critical for DNA repair. Inhibiting PARP leads to the accumulation of DNA damage and cell death, particularly in cancer cells with existing DNA repair deficiencies, such as those with BRCA mutations. NXP004 is currently in the preclinical stage of development for various oncology indications, with the goal of providing a superior pharmacokinetic profile over existing olaparib treatments.
