NXP100 is a potent and selective oral small molecule inhibitor of Complement Factor B (CFB), a key protease in the alternative pathway of the complement cascade. Developed by Nuvectis Pharma, NXP100 is designed for once-daily oral administration to treat various complement-mediated diseases. By inhibiting Factor B, the drug prevents the formation of the C3 convertase (C3bBb), thereby blocking the amplification loop of the complement system. This mechanism is particularly relevant for conditions characterized by dysregulated complement activation, such as Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH), IgA Nephropathy (IgAN), C3 Glomerulonephritis (C3G), Lupus Nephritis (LN), Myasthenia Gravis (MG), and dry Age-Related Macular Degeneration (dAMD). As of early 2024, NXP100 is in the IND-enabling stage of development.
