Overview

NY-250 is a preclinical-stage targeted alpha therapy (TAT) being developed by NAYA Therapeutics (a subsidiary of NAYA Biosciences) for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The therapeutic candidate consists of a targeting moiety directed against the Epithelial Cell Adhesion Molecule (EpCAM) labeled with the alpha-emitting radioisotope Astatine-211 (211At). EpCAM is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is frequently overexpressed in various epithelial tumors, including HCC, and is often associated with cancer stem cells and poor clinical outcomes. By specifically binding to EpCAM-expressing tumor cells, NY-250 delivers high-energy, short-range alpha radiation directly to the cancer site, inducing lethal double-strand DNA breaks while minimizing exposure and damage to surrounding healthy tissues.
