Overview

NY-ESO-1 119-143 peptide is a 25-amino acid peptide fragment derived from the cancer-testis antigen NY-ESO-1 (residues 119-143). It functions as a promiscuous MHC class II-restricted T-helper epitope, capable of binding to multiple HLA-DR alleles, including HLA-DRB1*0401, DRB1*0101, and others. By presenting these epitopes to CD4+ T cells, the peptide stimulates both Th1- and Th2-type immune responses, which are critical for coordinating cellular and humoral anti-tumor immunity. This peptide has been investigated as a component of therapeutic cancer vaccines, particularly for melanoma and other NY-ESO-1-expressing malignancies, to enhance the recognition and destruction of tumor cells by the immune system.
