Overview

Anocca's lead program is an autologous T-cell receptor (TCR) engineered T-cell therapy designed to target the NY-ESO-1 (New York esophageal squamous cell carcinoma 1) antigen. The therapy specifically recognizes the NY-ESO-1 peptide when presented by the HLA-A*02:01 major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecule. NY-ESO-1 is a cancer-testis antigen that is highly expressed in several solid tumors—including melanoma, synovial sarcoma, bladder cancer, and esophageal cancer—while remaining largely absent from healthy adult tissues, making it an ideal target for immunotherapy. By engineering a patient's own T cells with high-affinity TCRs identified through Anocca's proprietary platform, the therapy aims to induce potent, antigen-specific destruction of tumor cells. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development.
