Overview

NY-ESO-1 plasmid DNA is an investigational cancer vaccine that consists of a plasmid DNA encoding an immunogenic peptide derived from the cancer-testis antigen NY-ESO-1. The vaccine is designed to stimulate the immune system to recognize and attack tumor cells expressing NY-ESO-1. It has been administered using particle-mediated epidermal delivery (PMED) technology, which delivers the DNA into skin cells at high pressure. The primary mechanism involves inducing both cellular and humoral immune responses against NY-ESO-1-expressing tumors, with potential antitumor activity demonstrated in early-phase clinical trials[2][3][6]. The main indication under investigation is for various solid tumors expressing NY‑ESO‑1.
