Overview

NY3D11 is a **monoclonal antibody** that binds the **neural cell adhesion molecule (NCAM)**, also known as CD56. The antibody was developed to investigate whether NCAM could be a target for antibody-directed therapy in **small-cell lung cancer** (SCLC). In preclinical models, radiolabeled NY3D11 localized selectively to human SCLC xenografts in mice. However, in a clinical biodistribution study using radiolabeled NY3D11 administered intravenously to patients with SCLC, the antibody did not localize to primary tumors or metastases, accumulating instead in the liver and bone marrow, likely due to reaction with soluble NCAM or NK cells that express CD56.
